How do we get countries working together better?

trength lies in unity. Since the pristine
times, the civilizations that flourished successfully, gave enough importance
to foreign trade. Because, trade amongst nations will let movement of goods
cross border, that facilitates an overall development. Isolation, doesn’t
contribute to overall progress, though it may fulfil the internal developmental
goals of a particular country.
The
post colonial period evidenced quantum leap in growth of independent countries,
who designed their own Constitution. This empowered them with sufficient
traits, which led to ideological development. Countries like India, China,
Brazil, Niger, Egypt, Uganda, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Cuba
evidenced a leapfrog growth, only after they are left independent. But, soon
could they realize that DEVELOPMENT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE POSSIBLE WITH
ISOLATION and opened up their economies, inviting GLOBALIZATION. Thus by the
dusk of 20th Century, Globalization have become a THUMB RULE
STRATEGY for almost all the third world/Common wealth countries. This paved the
way of UNITY AND TOGETHERNESS.
But,
the other side of the coin cannot be ignored. Post WW2, the Cold war scenario
that existed in the bi-polar world led to severe clashes between The United
States (CAPITALISM) and The Soviet Union (SOCIALISM). Countries that newly took
birth had to support either Americas or Russia as part of their ideological
existence. It was a mere compulsion and there was no other option. SOCIALISM or
COMMUNISM was highly embarked by many leaders in many nascent countries like
Cuba, Afghanistan, India, Vietnam etc. The United States couldn’t tolerate
this, as the scene that was prevailing in cold war was a sheer CAPITALIST VS.
COMMUNIST DICHOTOMY. It wanted capitalism to prevail all over and voluntarily
brought out strategies like MARSHALL PLAN, NORTH ATLANTIC TREATY ORGANIZATION
AND GREEN REVOLUTION. The US dreamt of appeasing the communistic vibrations by
giving them subsistence though not a sophisticated life. This led, the Soviet
Union come up with alternatives live MALTOV PLAN AND WARSAW PACT. The period of
cold war evidenced four pathetic wars, which affect no man, a better life.
The
Cuban war, Vietnam War and Afghan war led to pure backlash on the US. It had to
compromise on its big daddy role. But soon could, Soviet realize that its
backyard laid its failure. The movement of LIBERAL SOCIALISM that started in
Russia paved way to unleash press freedom and soon could people of Soviet Russia
realize the liberal aspects of the west. This was succeeded by Uzbekistan,
Tajikistan, Ukraine and Turkmenistan coming out of Soviet, which latter
shattered the Soviet Union and gave birth to present day Russia. The cold war
ended and the Capitalism prevailed. The Dawn of 21st Century marked
the almost CAPITALIST DOMINANT WORLD.
The
period from 2000 till 2015 evidenced the ups and down in the trade panorama of
world nations. This period also marked highly significant changes in
Environmental and Climate Change, which brought many countries onto a single
platform. But the irony is, this didn’t oust the ideological differences
between the nations. What we dreamt of GLOBAL WORLD by the end of cold war,
where the ideological differences are expected ought not to be repeated, didn’t
materialize. The recent scenario of growing tensions between US and China
proved this. We can’t blame any single country for this scenario. Because, the
currency is just believed to be the repercussions of year’s long dominance by
west and also the unsatisfied retaliation by the east. Nuclear power is
OBSERVED TO BE A PARADOX. Because, it is looked as more DESTRUCTIVE than just
being a DETERRENT.
The
present day UNITED STATES is blamed for being PROTECTIONISTC and CHINA is
blamed for its DEBASEMENT. What remained a silent spectator here is
GLOBALIZATION IDEA. The beauty of globalization is, it gives wealth to the
nations, and wealth gives arrogance in the form of DEBASEMENT/ PROTECTIONISM.
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change or the United Nations
Convention on Bio-Diversity triggered a sense of belongingness amongst nation’s
w.r.t PARENT EARTH. But the dominance of protectionism and communism is now,
paralysing that latent relationship. The conventions come out with protocols,
but the protocols fail to materialize. If we dig deep, the audit trail shows us
that, the reason for lackadaisical growth lies not in mere ideological
differences but the IRONICAL CONDUCT OF COUNTRIES DWELLING TO THEIR PAST
HISTORY AND MEANINGLESS RETALIATION AT THE COST OF MOTHER EARTH. Yes. We exist
with differences, because we were once exploited. It is time that we accept the
fact and give way to AMNESIA, so that it wipes off the retaliating mindset and
paves way to COMPASSION & UNIFYING SPIRIT.
At this point, we can take the striking example
of ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH EAST ASIAN NATIONS which comprises of Laos, Brunei,
Myanmar, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam and Singapore.
These countries share disputed boundaries, demarcated in odd fashion, which led
to their struggle. Once the colonies of Japan, they all tasted the true facets
of Scientific temper and did invest in Education at prime. As a grouping in
Indian Ocean, ASEAN realized the potential of a concept called COMPARATIVE
ADVANTAGE. They now started working together, postponing their ideological
differences. And to their wonder, this fetched them the fruits of success.
Their connection gave them the advantage of Markets, Commutation, Trade,
Industry, Naval expedition and superiority which gave them enough agility to
face the China and the west, together.
From this, it is evident that, THE MORE UNITED
AND TOGETHER WE ARE, THE MORE SUCCESS CAN WE TASTE. It is time, we stop blaming
any single country for the present situation and start working for the goals of
the world like, tackling the Climate Change, harnessing the working age group
for rampant development through Technology 4.0, reducing the carbon foot print
and ideating the new policies of clean energy. We are tired making POLICIES to
shape us stay together and we are no less in making such policies. The problem
is with mindset of leaders of Democracies. We should let Amnesia do its duty
and develop a tendency of togetherness for the global good. Hence, we can
conclude “FORGET THE PAST, FOSTER IN THE PRESENT AND FORSEE THE FUTURE...FOR
THE SAKE OF MOTHER EARTH!”
